Valerie

My ovaries just exploded!

But at the same time, I think I just got pregnant from watching this performance.

Wandering Wednesday: Puerto Princesa, Palawan

Flashback to 3 years and 2 months ago when my college friends and I experienced Puerto Princesa - that tiny piece of island paradise we exploited for three days and 2 nights.

Since we took full advantage of the tour packages, not a single minute was wasted. We were up for anything and wanted to try everything! We were exploring by the day and partying at night (we were still light drinkers then haha). I remember wanting to sleep the whole week after this trip. I needed another vacation to recover from this vacation! Hehe.

Day1:
City Tour (Cathedral, Plaza Cuartel, Boulevard, Mitra's Ranch, Crocodile Farm, Baker's Hill)

#TiniWiniToInfinity (Tin and Choi's Wedding)

One of my very best friends got married two weeks ago!!! And I am one lucky, happy and sleepless friend!
I have known Bebz Tin (the bride) for almost two decades now. We practically grew up together, having been classmates from grade school 'til college. I don't know how we managed to put up with each other considering our totally different personalities but somehow, we haven't had any major fights ever since. I am so proud of this friendship! Haha.

Tin and Choi has been a couple since 2007, back when Friendster was still a thing and front cam selfies were non-existent. It has been a 'rocky' past few years (to say the least) for them but the two got out of it stronger than ever.
Anyway, it was almost impossible for me to attend this wedding since days before the date, I had to move to Cebu for Mama's therapy. But I guess the universe conspired magically for me witness this moment and lo and behold, we had to go home for the weekend! That exact wedding weekend!

Tin and I share the same sets of friends and I was smiling and laughing and overall having a lot of fun that entire day! It was a riot!

Warning: This post is photo heavy.

With Pearl and Arthsen. The most sarcastic b*tches I have ever known.
My Beeeeebz! Love this High School group to death!

Wandering Wednesday: Hongkong 2015

A year ago, I had the chance to visit Hongkong for a few days. To say that I had a blast would be an understatement. In a time where I was extremely in the dumps, I'd say I gained a lot of learning from this short trip. And a lot of friends too! I came to this city without any direction (sometimes literally because I got lost a few times haha), but I have earned a whole new perspective about life, love and people in general.

Of Storms and Strength

There is a Grey's Anatomy quote for everything! And I find myself quoting lots of GA lines lately. Mainly because I have been looking forward to this week's new season premiere episode. And also because each line hits me so hard every time. Today, I am reminded that this storm, too, shall pass.

Chasing the Valencia Waterfalls

I had the chance to tag along with my college friends and their workmates' Valencia tour a few weeks ago. For one, I didn't know about any tour (all I knew was that we were going straight to Pulang Bato). And second, I didn't know this trip was going to take HOURS. And because I am that person who doesn't prepare for trips, I ended up swimming in my underwear under that freezing water because I didn't have extra clothes. Those slippery rocks also played a trick on me and that eventually led to the painful demise of a precious toenail. (RIP toe)

Casaroro Falls. My ultimate goal was to count the exact number of steps going to Casaroro. I failed big time because I slipped and slid a lot of times. It's pretty surprising I only got a dead toe nail.

Phoebe Jhen's 18th

This girl has been in a few of my previous blog posts (here and here) so there's no denying how precious she is. The little sister I never had and the little lady who's got everything: talent, looks and a topnotch brain to boot. Is there anything she's not good at? Well for one, she has a bad posture haha.

Anyhoo, Inday Jhen (as we fondly call her) and her family came all the way from Saskatchewan to celebrate her 18th birthday. This was their first homecoming trip since moving to Canada three years ago so everybody was extremely excited.

Phoebe Jhen in photo shoots.
Phoebe Jhen in real life. Haha.

Invite cover created by my friend Gee-arr. (Thank you Gee! I still have to libre you ice cream hehe.) You may contact my hunk friend for layout designs, dessert buffets or if you just simply want a date because he's single too! Haha.

I don't have all the photos and  I failed to take some decent ones since I was hosting (with a bad croaky voice) so I'm leaving you with random shots and mostly group selfies my friends and I took. It was a night full of music, good food, laughter and a few happy tears. Happy Birthday Inday! You are blessed.

20/20 Vision (Or Still in Denial)

It occurred to me that one by one, my friends have been sporting the bifocals trend. Not primarily to look fashionable. But because the gods of poor eyesight have slowly taken over to rule their lives. I, on the other hand, is STILL taking pride in having the 20/20 vision. Emphasis on STILL because some of them are convinced the hours in front of the computer have gradually damaged my perfect eyes.

So in the spirit of compassion and true friendship, I have decided to have my eyes checked (no date promised as of writing time) to prove to them that yes, I am perfect. Or at least my eyes are! Haha. (The eye bags are a different story) Also, I tried on some of my friends' specs to see which frame suits me best.

Faces of Olympics 2016

Novak Djokovic of Serbia.
The current number one male tennis player in the world got an early upset during the first round crushing his Olympics dreams, the only trophy/medal he lacks in his long list of achievements. Here he is crying uncontrollably as he left the court after the loss. Also, I may or may not have shed a tear while watching that heartbreaking video. 😢

Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina.
He beat Novak. He beat Rafa. He came short in the finals. Nonetheless, he has a silver medal around his neck. This guy is definitely back! And I think his name is very sexy haha!

Usain Bolt of Jamaica.
The fastest man alive had me cracking up with all the memes this photo has created. And that cheeky grin? Well with an undefeated title, he can grin all he wants. 😁

One Day - Yonina version

Sometimes, all you need is a feel good song and someone to sing along with. Also, a cute little baby adorably giggling on the side helps. ❤️

#DU30SONA

Manila Bulletin was kind enough to compile some of our President's lines during yesterday's SONA. This is for all the 'busy' people who didn't get to catch the speech live and doesn't have time to watch it online yet. Basically, people like me hehe.

By the way, these lines aren't in order and I have no idea which one came first. Not that it matters anyway...

My favorite. Because hugot. Haha
This one I love too. Because bashers. lol

Throwback Thursday: Batch Probers

Once my high school Research teacher finds out that I had all the time in the world to make this blog entry instead of sending a reply to her Facebook message, all hell will break loose. However, there is a very slim chance she knows about this whole world called Blogger. Sorry Ma'am F!

Anyhoo, there is a reason why I suddenly unearthed these photos from the old and dusty baul. The annual homecoming is happening in a few days and my friends and I are going to pull off a no-show. So here's a letter from my friends/batchmates and I:

Dear teachers and fellow alumni,

We won't be able to participate in this year's events. So in behalf of my beautiful and handsome
batchmates, can I interest you in a set of throwback photos? Hehe

Here's an Octave original: a hilarious caricature of all her classmates! Haha. We belong to the Bato section or as we'd like to call it, the ROCKers. You can find me in there somewhere but I won't give any clues. ;)

The iconic Episode shoot with the Bebz! (minus Raruy, Riza and mommy). There's no photoshoot ever more epic than the P180 package from Episode! 6 wallet sized copies. Two 4Rs. One blowout picture. Thank you Episode for all your services. You are missed.
