Music Therapy

Videoke bonding with my girly loves last night.

Semi-Finals Done!

Oh yes that's right! We made it to the semi-finals baby! And by WE, I mean our singer, my fellow personal assistants/cousins of the singer/stylists and the one and only manager!

This has got to be one of those days when the feeling of terror and ecstasy are only minutes apart. And we're only talking about the semi-finals here! Hahah.

Congrats to our baby Phoebe Jhen for making us proud! Now, let's ace that Grand Finals trophy! CHOS.

The Other Side of CCTVs

In this day and age of CCTVs, all of us have been saturated with theft and murders caught on camera. But this video isn't one of them. Isn't it liberating to know that there are still good people out there? Life is still good. :))

Call me Maybe & Back to December (Male Versions)

I am a huge fan of The Voice. Actually, my whole family is too! Aside from the fact that it's where I get my regular Adam Levine dose, their contestants are amazingly good! Can't wait for the live shows!

Anyway, here's one of my favorite performances from the Knockout round. These two precious guys sang very familiar songs from two of the most popular female singers of today's generation: Back to December by Taylor Swift and Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen.

Their versions are a must-watch!

Frustrations and Little Victories

My friends and I share the same frustration over singing, dancing, sports, cooking, gardening,  and practically everything! The Lord has been so good in giving us (ahem) good looks. Unfortunately, that's where the story all ended. That was all He gave us.  Hahahah. Not that I'm ungrateful or anything tho.

Surprisingly, someone got a little luckier. Phoebe Jhen knows how to sing a chord, hits every note and does it effortlessly. She's a table tennis player who championed her Intramurals. She's a top honor student in a Regional Science High School. And as if that wasn't enough, she's one pretty girl too! Oh dear Lord, what kind of fairness and equality is this? Heheh.

Instead of grieving about all these unfulfilled dreams, we have subconsciously decided to channel our frustrations to this one special girl who has all the potential in the world. We're done venturing the beauty pageant world in a competition in her own school. She didn't win (since she was too young and it was her first time) but she did a great job nevertheless. Now, it was time to conquer yet another set of audience. The whole province! Yikes!

Not long ago, we signed her up for a singing teen idol competition in a local radio station. She passed her auditions a few weeks ago and braved her eliminations round this afternoon. Fortunately for this young lady, she made it to the top 2 and is now qualified  for the Semi-Finals two weeks from now! So happy I could die!!!!

Heidi's Halloween Madness

Here's someone who takes Halloween costume parties on a totally different level: Heidi Klum. This woman is just never afraid to get ugly! Hahahah. And she's absolutely in character every time.

I seriously need to crash a Halloween party next year.

One Obama Win

Congratulations to reelected President Barack Obama!!! God bless America.

Whale Sharks in Oslob, Cebu

Welcome to my first Wandering Wednesday post folks!!! :)) So excited to be sharing with you my first travel entry...although I'm not quite sure if this is going to last considering the fact that I haven't really traveled that much over the past few months. To add to that ball of a mess, I don't have pending plans either! Hahah!

Friends, blogger readers and uhm, random strangers who stumbled upon this blog for some weird reasons, let me present to you a memorable trip during one of the hottest and most depressing summer seasons of my life. Okay, I may only have 3 readers in total. Pardon the exaggeration.

Anyhoo, I have written about this in preview last June. When news came out early this year about visible whale sharks in Oslob, the town has immediately turned itself into a tourist spot.

Oslob is in the southern part of Cebu, which is actually just less than an hour of travel from Sibulan via pumpboat or fastcraft and bus. They hold their 10-minute orientation at Brgy Tan-awan, Oslob where former fisherfolks turned tour guides await.

By the way, whale-watching is only open in public from 6am-1pm so it's ideal to be up and early at dawn to fully enjoy this trip.

I Will Wait by Mumford and Sons

Holla! Since I had to revamp this page, I decided to pattern it from the various blogs that I constantly read. As an attempt to post stuff on a daily basis, my messed-up mind has come to an agreement to do daily themes. Like Patty Laurel's Travel Tuesday, Wedding Wednesday and Fashion Friday, I've come up with a Music Monday, Wandering Wednesday and the infamous Throwback Thursday. Maybe I'll do the Fashion Friday too.

Am I trying so hard? So far, that's all I really have. Mwahahah! I guess the rest of the days are going to be a free-for-all. So expect a little bit of variety on this page from now on.

So to commence this amazing breakthrough in my blogging life, I'm sharing this music video by Mumford and Sons entitled I Will Wait.

Have a great week friends! :))

Dear Papa

This isn't really an emotional tear-jerking post. I just wanted to let you know that we have especially dedicated this entire day all for you.

Do know that the two women in your life are still as dashing as ever. I've grown up a lot since the last time we talked, laughed and hugged each other but I'd like to believe that I'm still the baby girl you ultimately adored and who equally feels the same.

As you can see, we have adorned your 'place' with perennials mostly from Mama's bountiful garden. They are beautiful, but they wouldn't be as stunning if it weren't for the arrangement done by...ahem...your baby girl.

You would be stoked to know that we checked out the Skyfall movie tonight too. Mama hasn't missed any James Bond film since you were gone. She has told us over and over again that James Bond and Rambo are both your favorites. I'm not yet a James Bond fan just like you tho, but I thought it was good. I was too tired today so it was a surprise that I didn't sleep at the cinema!

It was a good day. As I've said, today was dedicated to you and your loving memory. I miss you Papa.  It's been such a long time. But knowing that somewhere out there sometime, we'll be seeing each other again eases me.

'Til then, Papa.

6 MONTHS

Geez. It's been 6 long months since my last decent post.

I have been emotionally "under the weather" (exact words from my June entry) the past few months, hence the decision to go on a blog hiatus. I was depressed, devastated, disappointed and altogether uninspired from everything that happened. I originally thought of taking this down since it didn't do any good (to me) anymore, but it's honestly so precious to destroy. After all, memories are memories no matter how much you avoid it. I did 'hide' this for a few months just so I could take a real breather.

And you know what? I did. THANK GOD. Hahahah.

And I've missed my blog big time...writing down my thoughts about every random stuff, posting my favorite songs and videos, quoting silly lines from everywhere and just simply sharing everything I do, love and hope for. I've missed feeling giddy after every published entry.

So today, I decided to write again.

I'm finally writing again because I'm ready. I am doing this because I am willing to move forward and continue to be passionate about something that is important to me. I have to admit that this wasn't an easy decision. I had my sleepless nights just thinking about this blog. (Yes, that's how significant this is to me!) But today, writing all these words flowing spontaneously from my mind just makes all sense. Okay, it might be a little weird to be posting this on a Halloween night but anyway...

I feel like am finally okay. I am at peace. And this is why I'm back in the grind again!!!

And as a comeback entry, would you be surprised if I post my recent pics? Mwahahah. This is ME,  6-months-and-a-couple-of-pounds-lost-and-regained later!

Cheers to endings, new beginnings and lessons learned. :))
