Road Up North with Seniang

There's an unspoken agreement my grade school pals and I decided on a few years ago. That's to have a mini reunion every Christmas and/or summer break. Though we sluggishly plan out a more detailed and eventful get together, somehow, we always end up having a simple last-minute drive away from the city.

This one turned out to be one of the most disastrous and funniest trips ever! We decided to go up north and stop over some towns and cities along the way. With a poorly conditioned car (thanks Cliff!) and Typhoon Seniang working against us the entire time, it's safe to say we were let down a tad bit.

Imagine driving down this eerie road... Yup, scary scary stuff.

Typically though, that wouldn't stop us from having a hell of a good time together.

Sweet Siquijor Weekend

Disclaimer: This is the first installment of my Siquijor trip with my barkada. Since this trip was 80% amazing and 20% frustrating, I have decided to create a two-part post, this being the "amazing" one.

We stayed in Salagdoong Beach, Maria, Siquijor for the weekend. The resort was quite secluded so there's pretty much nothing else you can do but savor the place, eat and of course do a lot of swimming. And a lot of eating and swimming we did!

We decided to visit Msgr Catubig whom we fondly call "Monsi" who happens to be the town's parish priest. He and Ruben turned out to be our blessings in disguise since we weren't very prepared with our things and we lacked a lot of cooking materials and other 'survival' stuff.

Already Home - A Great Big World

Sharing to you my new favorite song. Seriously, this just gives me a lot of feels! I can not get enough of this song. Ahhh! The melody and the lyrics are perfect.

You say love is what you put into it

You say that I'm losing my will
Don't you know that you're all that I think about?
You make up a half of the whole

You say that it's hard to commit to it
You say that it's hard standing still
Don't you know that I spend all my nights
Counting backwards the days 'til I'm home?

If only New York wasn't so far away
I promise the city won't get in our way
When you're scared and alone,
Just know that I'm already home

I say that we're right in the heart of it
A love only we understand
I will bend every light in this city
And make sure they're shining on you

If only New York wasn't so far away
I promise the city won't get in our way
When you're scared and alone,
Just know that I'm already home

When life takes its own course
Sometimes we just don't get to choose
I'd rather be there next to you
Promise you'll wait for me, wait for me
Wait 'til I'm home

All I have is this feeling inside of me
The only thing I've ever known

If only New York wasn't so far away
I promise the city won't get in our way
When you're scared and alone,
Just know that I'm already home

If only New York wasn't so far away
I will be there every step of the way
When you're scared and alone,
Just know that I'm already home
Just know that I'm already home

Korean Night with the Bebzies

In honor of our friend Bebz Cheenee who is about to tie the knot in a few days and will fly off to Korea right after the wedding, we decided to have a random Korean night with the girls.

First time in Soban and will surely be back for more!
